Macbeth acts in a weird way in the banquet because he sees the ghost of banquo. This freaks him out and he starts behaving irrationally. Lady Macbeth gets the sittuation under controll by saying that macbeth had a fever when he was small so he is weird now.
Macbeth is acting really afraid because he has just seen Banquo's ghost. Lady Macbeth tells everyone that he is acting this way because he used to have fevers as a child.
In the banquet, Macbeth is worried in the fact that Fleance escaped but is pleased that Banquo is dead. When the banquet started, Macbeth starts to see Banquo’s ghost in which allows him to panic due to fear and react to it in front of the guest. Lady Macbeth also panics when the lords gets worried about Macbeth, therefore she explains to everyone that he had fever when he was a child and therefore sometimes it appears form unexpected moments. She takes Macbeth on the side and asks him whether he was not man enough to act normal, making feel less of a man. Macbeth tries to go back again but when he saw the ghost he panic, and therefore Lady Macbeth could only dismiss the guest. From this, it is emphasised that Macbeth fears the prophesy because he fears that Banquo’s son is still alive, and also the fear of his brutal actions.
At the banquet a variety of feelings mix in Macbeths mind, the thought of guilt is starting to worry him yet in the other hand the worry of not having completed the task. These innerconflicts make him sick causing him to see the ghost of Banquo which further proves the overload of things mACBETH has. LAdy Macbeth tells the guests that he is feeling not too well because of a nearly mortal fever at a young age.
