Act IV scene iii power of healing

What is the significance of the scene in which the doctor describes King Edward’s power of healing?

Shakespeare uses this power of healing contrasting to Macbeth's power of destruction. While King Edward is a good king, King Macbeth is a tyrant.
Also, Shakespeare, according to notes on the book, wanted to flatter King James, the monarch during the playwright's time.

I think that you are correct in that Shakespeare wants to flatter King James, however, i think it goes beyond that. What Skakespeare really wants to do is speak his mind on liberty and corruptless leaders. It could have even been a critic to monarchy in general since both of them are tyrants eventhough one is a better tyrant. Shakespeare is so sutile that he could have been criticizing King James in his face and not even letting him realize it.
